I thought I would take a photo of mum's magic cookbook (See my Madeira Cake recipe and history to view the photos - http://www.mydish.co.uk/recipe/318/madeira_cake_by_jacquie) to show you all what she left me. It's pretty dog-eared and frayed at the edges by now and of course the ink is fading fast - not to mention the stains left over from many a meal cooked in a hurry or laboured over for hours. Clearly a magician's almanac. I am delighted that I have been able to preserve some of the recipes here on mydish for all time and also easily share them with my sister in the USA.
