Greenery Day, or “Midori no hi” in Japanese is observed on April 29th and forms part of what is known as Golden Week. Quite literally it is a celebration of nature and many of Japan’s parks and green spaces hold some kind of event as part of the Greenery Day festivities. Typically as in most other national holidays, Greenery Day is a time when Japanese people get together with friends and family to celebrate. What better excuse can there be to prepare some traditional Japanese dishes?
