From Russia With Love..

Traditional Russian recipes include some of the most famous dishes in the world. Think beef stroganoff served with boiled potatoes and cabbage or blinis topped with caviar or filled with mincemeat and of course borsht served hot or cold with sour cream. The interesting thing about Russian cuisine is that because of the infamously long-lasting frozen winters the essential components of every meal are foods that provide maximum warmth and energy namely carbohydrates and fat. So it’s no wonder that authentic Russian dishes predominately contain potatoes, bread, butter, eggs and meat.

Now as Monday 19th May is Victoria Day when Russians pay homage to the soldiers who died in the Second World War; so why not have a go at making a traditional Russian meal using some of the recipes we’ve mentioned or maybe you’ve got one of your own which you would like to add. Don’t forget though to wash it down with copious amounts of Vodka. Na zdorovje – To you health!!!!
