As Broad as a Bean
Plump little broad beans are delicious hot or cold, and not only do they add taste and flavour to dishes but they also add vibrant colour to any summer salad.
This wonderful hard little bean offers such a robust flavour and is highly nutritious; full of phosphorous, vitamin A and C and is notably rich in protein.
They are used extensively in Middle Eastern dishes, in Italy the raw beans are served with a piece of pecorino cheese and in Greece they are also traditionally eaten raw, washed down with some intoxicating ouzo.
Try making broad beans with bacon and feta or halloumi with broad beans. Why not add your favourite to give us all food for thought this Summer.
