I have been cooking since I was fifteen when I learnt to do so out of necessity! My family, originally from Ceylon, had led a privileged life and neither I nor my mother had ever cooked; however, this all changed, with the help of a battered Elizabeth Craig and a 50-year old 'Mrs. Beeton'. Cooking since then has been my obsession and fifty years on I still love every minute I spend in the kitchen. I am proud that my oldest daughter shares this passion and is Cordon Blueu trained. It was she who introduced me to this site.
