Method

  • 1 - Preheat the oven 180c and lightly butter 4 baking sheets with 15g of the butter.
  • 2 - Blend the remaining buter and both sugars until smooth. Add the egg and vanilla essence and blend briefly.
  • 3 - Sift the flour and bicarb together and then fold into the mixure. Once throughly mixed stir in the chocolate chips.
  • 4 - Drop heaped teaspoons of the mixture onto the baking sheets. Make sure you leave enough space between them as they spread while they bake.
  • 5 - Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
  • 6 - Ensure they are cooled completely before storing in an airtight tin.

    • 140g butter
    • 50g caster sugar
    • 60g soft dark brown sugar
    • 1 medium egg. beaten
    • ½ tsp vanilla essence
    • 125g plain flour
    • ½ tsp bicarbonate of soda
    • 150g plain chocolate chips
