Method

  • 1. Once you have picked the sloes, prick them all with a pin.

  • 2. Add the gin, sugar and sloes into a large glass sealed container (not plastic), shake well and then place in a cool room.

  • 3. Shake regularly so the mixture all blends together and the sugar eventually disolves.

  • 4. About a week before Christmas pour the liquid through a sieve or muslin bag to separate the fruit and the liquid.

  • 5. Then put the Sloe Gin into a bottle and use as required.
  • Ingredients

    • 1 pint Sloes
    • 1 pint Gin (cheapest)
    • 1 pint sugar
