Method

  • Chop the onion and garlic as small as you can and add to a blender with the ketchup and cider vinegar, blend until you have a smooth paste. Then add to a heavy bottomed pan and add all other ingredients. Warm slowly, you dont want to boil it just combine the flavours and liquidate the sugar etc... Once done you can jar it up or add to some slow cooked Pork or Beef. Use on a BBQ anything you like...

    • Let's face it shop bought anything is okay if time is an issue. But if times an issue why bother looking for a recipe .. doesn't make sense :(

    • Yeah sure - shop bought if time is an issue is no probs.

      I found it hard to get one which replicated the taste experience i had had so came up with this.But anything that suits your taste buds. Its all personal preference :)

    • At least you know whats in this lol and my hubby cant have salt and think kind of stuff bough is loaded in it,so I have to watch what im buying...all I would do is just add a teeny bit of salt to this recipe. I love BBQ sauce, cant wait to try this

    Ingredients

    • 1 Onion (medium)
    • ¾ Cup Tomato Ketchup
    • 1/3 Cup Cider Vinegar
    • ¼ Cup  Brown Sugar
    • ¼ Cup + a dollop Tomato Paste
    • 3 Tbsp Smoked Paprika
    • 2 Tbsp Worstershire Sauce
    • 2 Tbsp Yellow Mustard (American style)
    • 1 ½ Tsp Salt
    • 1 ¼ Tsp Pepper
    • Pinch Chilli Powder
    • 1 Clove Garlic
    • 1/3 Cup Treacle
