1. Mix all ingredients in a shaker with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass on the rocks.
VARIATIONS
Above is the Classic version of the cocktail. However, you can vary the fruit depending on your passion. For example if limes are not available replace them with Lemon Juice, Strawberry, Kiwi or indeed any fruit of your choice. Simply puree the fruit of your choice and replace the Lime Juice.
The frozen Daiquiri again is a simple variation. All you need to do is add the ice and rum to the blender together with the fruit of your choice. Blend together for 10 to 20 seconds and there you have it!
This is a great cocktail to serve when guests arrive for a barbeque and to get the evening off to a good start.

After the Spanish-American War, Jennings S. Cox led a team of American engineers in a mining operation near the little town of Daiquiri, in Cuba. After a long day on the iron mines, Cox was looking for a long cool drink (with a bit of a kick in it)to revive and refresh him. So he mixed ice with lime juice and a dash of sugar and the Daiquiri was invented!
It was during the American Prohibition that a barman at El Floridita (most famous bar in Havana, Cuba) invented variations of the original Daiquiri including the frozen Strawberry Daiquiri that we enjoy today.
