Grandma's Gingernut Biscuits

Method

  • Sift the flour, ginger and bicarb soda into a bowl. Add the sugar and lightly rub in the butter.

  • Add syrup and mix to a smooth paste.

  • Roll into 16 balls and place on a greased baking tray. I normally need to use 2 trays for this. Make sure you leave plenty of space between the biscuits as they will spread out.
  • Flatten each biscuit slightly.

  • Cook for around 10 minutes at gas . If using 2 trays and they are on 2 shelves, swap them over at 5 mins to ensure they are both cooked.

  • Take out of the oven and cool. Enjoy!

    • WOW... this sounds like something even my little sister would be able to cook. We are both children and obviously, like all children, we love sweet things as well so these would be wonderful for me and my sister to make.

    • 2oz Butter
    • 2oz Golden Syrup
