Condensed Milk Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 1½ lbs flour
  • 1 lb butter or margarine
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • pinch salt
  • 1 teaspoon lemon essence (optional)
  • ¾ cup castor sugar
  • 1 tin condensed milk

Method

Cream butter and sugar well, add condensed milk and beat till well mixed. Sift baking powder, salt and flour and add to butter mixture. (if desired, add lemon essence) Grease pans, take one teaspoon of dough and shape into marble size rounds and flatten with fork. Bake in moderate oven 370 degrees farenheit for 15-20 minutes. these ingredients can make about 20 dozen biscuits, but recipe can be halved or quartered.
