Method

  • 1. Preheat oven to 180C.
  • 2. Put the beef, onion, carrot and chopped tomatoes into a casserole dish.
  • 3. Crumble the oxo cubes on top and then add the garlic granules, bisto gravy and a sprinkling of pepper.
  • 4. Add boiling water until it has almost covered the contents but not quite.
  • 5. Stir and put in the oven for at least 3 hours. No need to stir whilst cooking as the burnt sides add to the flavour.
  • Ingredients

    • 500g Diced braising steak
    • 1 Large onion (sliced)
    • 3 Carrots (sliced)
    • Large tin Chopped tomatoes
    • 2 Oxo cubes
    • 2 tbsp Bisto gravy granules
    • 1 tsp Garlic granules
    •  Ground pepper
    •  boiling water
