Method

  • In a bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk, then stir in bread crumbs, onion, and seasonings. Add the mince, mix well. Shape mixture into a loaf pan (or you can put it in the middle of a roasting pan and surround it with carrots and potatoes with knobs of butter spaced throughout the vegetables.
  • Bake in a 350 degree oven for 1 – 1 ¼ hours.
  • In a small bowl, combine the ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard. Spread over the top of the loaf. Bake for another 10 minutes. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.

    • Absolutely loved it, i 1st used this recipe a few months ago and the whole family enjoyed it and it is now a family regular so thought i should log back on and share how good this recipe is. (i have also used the ketchup sauce topping on ribs which was also very tasty) Thank you

    Ingredients

    • 2 eggs beaten
    • ¾ cup milk
    • 2/3 cup fine dry bread crumbs
    •  OR
    • 2 cups soft bread crumbs
    • 1 finely chopped small white onion
    • 2 tbs chopped fresh parsley
    • 1 tsp salt
    • ½ tsp dried leaf sage
    • ½ tsp oregano
    • ½ tsp Basil
    • 1/8 tsp black pepper
    • 1 ½ lbs mince beef lamb or pork
    • ¼ cup ketchup
    • 2 tbs packed brown sugar
    • 1 tsp dry mustard

    Love it, it's a great use for leftover mince.
