Method

  • 1. Melt the margarine, sugar and golden syrup
  • 2. Remove from the heat and stir in the dry ingredients
  • 3. Put small spoonfuls of the mixture on a well greased baking tray, making sure they are at least 7.5 cm apart as they will spread
  • 4. Bake in an oven at 180c/350f/gas mark 4 for 7-10 minutes
  • 5. Have ready one or two wooden spoons and a wire tray
  • 6. allow the buscuits to cool for a moment then luft off with a knife. Roll round the handle of a wooden spoon and leave for a minute to set.
  • 7. If the buscuitsbecome to hard to roll re-heat them for a few minutes
  • 8. Re-fill the baking tray and proceed with the remainder of the mixture
  • 9. Fill with a little whipped cream just before serving

    • 50g/2oz Margarine
    • 50g/2oz Caster Sugar
    • 50g/2oz Self-raising flour
    • ½ tsp Ground Ginger
    • 1 tsp Brandy or Rum
    • 2 tbsp Golden Syrup
