Method

  • Pop the oven on at around 200 degrees centigrade.
  • Take four little pots (oven proof) or a medium sized shallow dish and place the blueberries across the bottom - lots and lots of Blueberries.
  • Sprinkle sugar all over the top of the Blueberries but you will have to gauge this Blueberries are usually sweet already, so you don't need too much sugar.

  • To make the topping, put your butter into a bowl, sprinkle some flour and sugar in. Now get your hands dirty - rubbing the ingredients together between your fingers. Keep adding more flour or sugar as you feel you need in order to get the mix into very tiny little crumbs... they should be as soft as snowflakes!
  • Now, sprinkle the crumble mixture all over the top of the fruits - I like about a centimeter of crumble to two centimeters of blueberries.
  • Pop in the oven for around 10 - 15 mins.
  • When golden brown on the top - take out of the oven and serve immediately.
  • My favourite is with whipped cream!
  • Tips

    • You can use as many Blueberries as you like in this recipe, it's really up to you how thick you want this layer to be. Just remember the blueberries will reduce while cooking (all melt down) you you should allow for that hapopening

    • Mmm, I love blueberries but only usually like them in muffins - they often get messed around with too much, but this looks great. I can't imagine how nice it would be with berries picked that day :)

My Swedish grandmother used to make this for us after a day of blueberry picking in the forest.
