Method

  • 1. Mix together the flours, muesli, dried yeast, ascorbic acid and salt.

  • 2. Rub in butter or margarine.

  • 3. Place the dough in a covered bowl and leave in a warm place for 10 mins.

  • 4. Divide the dough into two equal portions.

  • 5. Knead, shape and place each dough portion into a lightly greased 400 g loaf tin.

  • 6. Cover with greased plastic bag and leave in a warm place for 40 mins.

  • 7. Pre-heat oven and bake loaves for 30 to 35 mins until golden brown.

  • 8. Turn out and leave on a cooling rack until fully cool.
  • Tips

    • - This bread is delicious toasted with a drop of honey.

      - Note that the ascorbic acid reduces the proving time and will add extra vitimin C to your diet.

    • This looks absolutely delicious - my sort of bread, full of flavour and healthy too, so you don't feel too guilty when eating the whole loaf... Will definitely try making this and let you know how it came out. Bet is smells good too

    Ingredients

    • 300 g White Flour
    • 200 g Plain Brown Flour
    • 100 g Swiss Style Muesli
    • 1 Sachet Easy Blend Dried Yeats
    • 25 mg (Crushed Tablet) Ascorbic Acid (vitimin C)
    • 2.5 ml Salt
    • 15 g Butter or Margarine
    • 375 ml Hot Water (cool to hot)
