Chicken Soup by blokes for colds

Method

  • Cut the chicken into quarters
  • Deep fry it in a wok or frying pan
  • About 8 mins skin side then five the other
  • Add to a pan with stock and water
  • Add chopped everything
  • Plus some salt and pepper plus some soy sauce if you have some
  • Boil for twenty mins
  • Then leave to simmer as long as you can
  • Tear chicken off bone with a knide and fork, if it hasnt come off already
  • Take bones out (optional)
  • Taste to make sure it hits you in the back of the neck - if it doesnt add more chilli, garlic, ginger, salt and pepper
  • Serve with nice fresh bread
  • Reheat when required or just keep simmering for a while

    • Looks really good and I am going to cook it for my Dad later today as he's not well at all and is wrapped up in bed with a horrid cold - the admiral spending a day in bed is not heard of....... Will let you know what he says and is it makes him feel better!!

    Ingredients

    • 1 A Chicken (£3 from supermarket)
    • 2 Chicken stock cubes
    • 1 Sweetcorn medium tin (buy one without water)
    • 2 tea spoons Chilli powder or fresh
    • 2 Garlic cloves (the little segments)
    • 1 Ginger - grate some
    • 2 Vegetables chop some different ones up
    • 1 Onion chopped (yellow better but red will do)
    • 2 tablespoons Flour
    • 1 tea spoon hot pepper if you have some

    I made this when someone I knew had a cold. It seemed to work - at minimum it made my nose run [vote for this recipe its way better than the other chicken soup recipes here]
