Method

  • 1. Preheat oven to 180C. Put the apples, 2 tbsp.
  • of the sugar and the water in a saucepan. Cover and cook over a low heat for 4-5 min. Stir
  • in the cinnamon pour into an ovenproof dish.
  • 2. Beat the butter with the remaining sugar using
  • a wooden spoon. Add the eggs, vanilla essence
  • and flour.Beat it until it's soft and creamy.
  • 3. Spoon the sponge mixture over the apples and
  • smooth it down gently with the back of the
  • spoon.
  • 4. bake for 30-35 min.

    • 2 tbsp. water
    • ½ tsp cinnamon
    • 6 tbsp. butter
    • 2 eggs beaten
    • ½ tsp vanilla essence
    • 3 oz self-raising flour-sifted
