Venison/any Meat Chilli

Method

  • 1. Brown venison or other meat in some butter in heavy based frying pan. put on plate and leave to 1 side.
  • 2. brown onions , garlic and mushrooms in same frying pan. put on same plate on the side!!
  • 3.cook bacon in same pan with a little more butter until tender add paprika, chilli,cumin herbs and whatever else you fancy and stir well.
  • 4. pour a little red wine to pan stir well and pour into a oven proof dish, saucepan, slow cooker or whatever you wish to cook this dish in.
  • 5. Add all remaining engredients to dish(use equal amount of chicken stock and red wine to just cover and top up if needed(depending on cooking time)
  • 6.cook in oven or on hob for a couple of hour simmering(or longer the better making sure you dont let it go too dry) or in slow cooker for at least 4 hours.
  • 7.serve and enyoy with whatever you like from rice to mashed potato!!
  • Ingredients

    • 500g venison steak(diced)(or anything you like)
    • a good handful mushrooms(sliced)
    • a good handful onoins
    • as much as you like garlic
    • a few slices@ diced bacon
    • as needed chicken stock
    • as needed red wine
    • to season salt and pepper
    • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
    • 1 teaspoon ground smoked paprika
    • to taste chilli powder(or spicy sauce etc)
    • a good handful diced potatos(skin on if you like. i do!!!!)
    • a squirt tomato puree
    •  butter
    • a much as you like mixed dried or fresh herbs

    really easy mouth watering dish that can be prepared plenty in advance if necassary. recipe can be used for any meat you wish.(designed for my wife to follow!!!!)
