Method

  • 1.Beat eggs, cream of wheat and ghee well together.
  • 2.Add milk and elachi and beat again.
  • 3.Add flour and baking powder and mix to form soft jamun dough.
  • 4.Leave in fridge overnight. Fry next day in deep oil over moderate heat until jamuns are a lovely dark, tan colour.
  • 5.Dip in syrup. Sprinkle colour.
  • 6.The Syrup:.
  • 7.Mix 1 ½ cups sugar in 1 cup water and when sugar is dissolved, put on stove and boil until syrup begins to form.

    • 300g condensed milk
    • 60 ml cream of wheat
    • 20 ml baking powder
    • 710 ml flour
    • 30 ml oil
    • 2 eggs
    • 5 ml cardamom
    • ------- Syrup
    • 360 ml sugar
    • 240 ml water
