Method

  • Heat about tbls oil or butter in large pot. add lentils, onion, carrots and turnip and cook for about 5 mins.

  • Add in water and stock cubes and salt and pepper and simmer until lentils and vegetables are cooked-about 40-50 mins usually.

  • Serve with crusty loaf of bread.
  • Ingredients

    • 2 ham stock cubes
    • approx 2 pts water
    •  salt and pepper
    • 2-3 carrots diced
    • about ½ small turnip diced
    • 1 onion diced
    • 60g lentils-non soak ones
