Method

  • In a saucepan, cook sugar and water until it spins a thread, about 230°.
  • Cool syrup.
  • Combine remaining ingredients in a separate bowl, add the syrup and whisk to blend well.
  • Chill thoroughly.
  • Tips

    • Excellent in a Reuben Sandwich! :) (see my other killing recipe for this!)

    Ingredients

    • RUSSIAN DRESSING
    • 2-3 tablespoons granulated sugar
    • 1 ½ tablespoons water
    • ½ cup extra virgin olive oil (or equivalent)
    • 1- 1½ tablespoons lemon juice
    • ½ tablespoon apple cidar vinegar (or equivalent)
    • ¼ teaspoon sea salt
    • ¼ teaspoon paprika
    • ¾ teaspoon celery seeds
    • ½ tablespoon worcestershire sauce
    • 2-3 tablespoons grated onion
    • ¼ cup ketchup
    • ¼ cup mayonnaise
    • 1 sprig flat leaf parsley
