Method

  • 1. Soak peas and beans overnight in cold water.
  • 2. Dice carrots, celery, onion, leek.
  • 3. Put in pan with the oil, cover and cook gently for 10 min.
  • 4. Pour on stock and add cereals. Simmer for 3 hours. Season on taste.
  • Ingredients

    • 12 oz split peas
    • 4 oz butter beans
    • 2 carrots
    • 2 sticks celery
    • 1 onion
    • white part of leek
    • 2 tbsp. oil
    • 3 pints meat stock
    • to taste salt and pepper
