Method

  • Warm milk and pour over sliced swiss roll in 11/2 pt pie dish.Soak 1/2 hour,then stir in egg yolks,sugar and lemon juice.Bake in oven 170 gas 6 for 40 mins,spread with warmed jamand top with merringue.
  • For the merringue,whisk whites stiffly,fold in the sugarand pile on top of the jam.Return to oven and bake for 15mins or until merringue is set.Enjoy!!!

    • 1 pint milk
    • 2 tbsp sugar
    • 1 jam swiss roll
    • 2 egg yolks
    • ½ tsp concentrated lemon juice
    • 2 tbsp jam
    • MERRINGUE
    • 2 egg whites
    • 2oz sugar

    This was Grandmas favourite she used to make it for the family after a yummy weekend roast this was the finale!!!!!!!
