Low Fat Chocolate Cake

Method

  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C. Grease around cake pan.

  • In a medium bowl: mix the flour + sugar + cocoa powder + baking soda + salt.

  • In a large bowl mix the yogurt + oil + vanilla extract + and egg yolks.

  • In a medium bowl, with an electric mixer, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.

  • Stir the flour mixture into the yogurt mixture until just blended. Fold the egg whites into the flour mixture. Pour into the prepared pan.

  • Bake for 35 minutes.

  • Serve with fruits such as strawberries, raspberries or orange.

    • could you not just use self raising flour? then it would'nt mater about the amount of baking powder. just a thought

    • I assume by 'flour' you mean plain flour, and by 'baking soda' you mean baking powder.
      Also, you have not included the quantity of baking soda/powder in your ingredients. Could you please let me know this so that I can make this recipe. Many thanks.
