Method

  • Mix flour and salt in mixing bowl,Rub in fats with fingertips,till crumbs form.Sprinkle in water and stir with knife until dough forms.Knead with fingertips till smooth.Use in variety of recipes(for a sweet pastry for fruit pies etc add 2ozs sugar)
  • For your Dads curried pasties make mince as in bolognese but leave out italian herbs and add curry powder to taste.To make pasties cut aroud a plate,place mixture on one side and wet edge of pastry fold over and seal,brush with milk.Bake at 180 gas 6 for 30 mins.
  • Ingredients

    • ½lb pastry
    • ½lb self raising flour
    • 1 pinch salt
    • 2oz margarine
    • 2oz trex
    • 2 tbsp tbsp water to mix

    The first time I made pastry for your dad I made curried mince pasties he never forgot them in the nicest possible way they were very yummy!!!
