Ingredients

  • ½ Lb Medium Matzo Meal
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 Soup Spoon Chicken Fat
  • Pinch Salt
  • ½ Cup Boiling Water

Method

This quantity makes about 10 - 12 balls.

1. Beat the egg very well, add water and fat and beat well.
2. Add enough meal to make a stiff mixture but not too hard. Let stand for at least 1/2 hour in the fridge.
3. Rolls balls lightly with wet hands and drop into fast salted boiling water or soup and cook with lid on for about 1/2 to 3/4 hour.
4. Can be frozen. No need to defrost but then cook for a little longer
