Thick Crust Beer Bread Vegetarian Pizza

Method

  • 1. In a large saucepan sautee the garlic. Add the tomatoes, cut into eighths, followed by the remaining vegetables.

  • 2. To make the crust add beer to floor, mixing with a large spoon.

  • 3. Put the dough on a pizza pan, oiled or sprinkled with corn meal to prevent sticking.

  • 4. Roll it out with a rolling pin, adding flour to prevent sticking. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

  • 5. Place in oven for 45 minutes.

  • 6. Remove and cover with the sauce, smoothing it out with the bottom of a large spoon.

  • 7. Return to oven and set on broil for 5 to ten minutes, checking frequently. Remove, cool, cut into eighths, and serve.

  • Makes one large pizza.

      This looks great - just want to confirm before I make it - how early do you start making the sauce and do you keep it simmering all the 45 mins while the doughs in the oven?

    • 6 cloves garlic w/tops
    • 1 handful resh basil. thyme. oregano
    •  olive oil
    • CRUST
    • 3 cups self-rising flour
    • 1 12-oz. beer
    • 3 cloves garlic
