Method

  • peel the potatoes and slice thinly
  • layer in well greased oven proof dish with onions,seasoning,bacon,herbs & cheese.
  • warm milk pour over
  • moderate oven 190' for 1hr15mins
  • remove lid and dot with one oz margarine and sprinke with the grated cheese.
  • return to oven for 30mins
  • Tips

    • you can leave the bacon and cheese out.

    Ingredients

    • 2 ½ lbs Potatoes
    • 2-3 onion thinly sized
    •  salt and pepper
    • 4oz chopped lean bacon (optional)
    • 1tsp mixed herbs
    • 4oz grated cheese mature chedder
    • 1pint milk
