Method

  • 1. Peel and grate potatoes.
  • 2. Squeeze dry and place in a bowl.
  • 3. Add onion, eggs, matza meal, salt and pepper.
  • 4. Mix well.
  • 5. Heat the oil in a frying pan and drop the mixture into the pan in large or small spoonfuls.
  • 6. Brown well on both sides and drain on paper towels.
  • Tips

    • Keep the grated potatoes in a bowl of ice-water to keep them from turning brown.

    • 6 medium Potatoes
    • 1 onion grated
    • 2 eggs. beaten
    • 3 tbsp. matza meal
    • to taste salt and pepper
    • for frying vegetable oil
