Atomic Apple and Blackberry Crumble

Method

  • 1. Put a layer of blackberries in a large dish that goes in the oven.

  • 2. Cover with a layer of diced apple (after removing the peel and core).

  • 4. Sprinkle on a little brown sugar.

  • 5. Mix the flour, butter, sugar and oats until combined to a crumb-like texture.

  • 6. Spoon the topping mixture over the fruit

  • 7. Bake (180C) until top goes toasty brown

    • Tried this dish in the autumn and have since made it several times using oatmeal instead of oats. So tasty!

    • I've been making this as one of my family's favourite recipes for years!!!! But I use all sorts of available fruit...
      Their favourite is blueberries and apple.
      Sometime I caramelise the fruit first...try it with caramelised nectarines .. I'll put that recipe on the site.
