Dirty Naughty Chocolate Cake

Method

  • Preheat oven 190 degrees
  • Cream together marge and sugar.
  • Whisk eggs and add bit by bit.
  • Bit by bit fold in flour and cocoa powder.
  • Share out mixture into 2 greased and lined cake tins
  • Cook in centre of oven for about 20 - 25 mins untill centre springs
  • Check half way through, some ovens cook quicker than others.

  • Meanwhile, melt butter in a bowl over simmering water.
  • Add cocoa powder and icing sugar.
  • Add the milk and stir well untill smooth & glossy.
  • Remove from heat and cool completely
  • Remove sponges from tins and pour some of the chocolate sauce over.
  • Place the other one on top.
  • Pour the rest of the chocolate icing over the whole cake and let it run down sides.

  • Serve with ice cream, cream or custard. Yummy!!!
  • Tips

    • If you allow the icing to cool for a couple of hours before icing it becomes thicker and you can spread it over and crate a swirly design with a fork.

    • 225g Caster Sugar
    • 4 Medium Eggs
    • FOR THE ICING
    • 55g Margerine
