Beat egg until light and creamy. Add sugar and beat until white and thick. Slowly beat in the wine. Cook in the top of a double boiler over hot, not boiling, water. Beat constantly until mixture leaves the side of the pan. REmove from heat and beat 1 minute more. Serve hot or cold
