re date loaf,the recipe method 3. says beat egg and sugar well,in the ingredients there isnt any sugar can you tell me if it should be soft brown and the same amount as butterthanks

Good for teatime
Friend of mine gave me this recipe when I said I had dates left from Christmas and some ov..
This loaf improves with keeping,so i always keep it for 1 day before eating..
This makes 2 loaves, so you can freeze one for another day...
Fuit loaf, but with nuts!!..
