Method

  • Mix honey and sugar together. Add oil and melted margarine. Beat well and add eggs gradually. Add warm water and all spices mix well and finally fold in the sifted flour mixed with baking powder and bicarbonate soda. Line a big tin and bake in a moderate oven for 1 hour.

    Ingredients

    • 1tsp Bicarbonate Soda
    • 1 dessert spoon Cinnamon
    • 2ozs Melted Margarine
    • ¾cup Oil
    • ½lb Granulated Sugar
    • 1 ½cups Warm Water
    • ¾lb Honey
    • 1lb Self raising flour
    • 3 Eggs
    • 1tsp Baking Powder
    • 1 dessertspoon Mixed Spice

    A delicious moist cake made by my mother every Rosh Hashana. Should be made about 3 days before needed so that it gets really moist.
