  • Prep Time: 0hrs 5 mins
  • Cooking Time: 1hrs 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 8oz Caster sugar
  • 8oz Butter
  • 8oz Self Raising Flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 2oz ground almonds

Method

Cream the butter and sugar.

Add the eggs and beat well.

Add flour and ground almonds

Cook at 350F for 11/4 hours

I thought I would take a photo of mum's magic cookbook to show you all what she left me. It's pretty dog-eared and frayed at the edges by now and of course the ink is fading fast - not to mention the stains left over from many a meal cooked in a hurry or laboured over for hours. Clearly a magician's almanac. I am delighted that I have been able to preserve some of the recipes here on mydish for all time and also readily share them with my sister in the USA.
