Method

  • 1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C). Grease an 8x8 inch baking pan.

  • 2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and eggs until light and fluffy.

  • 3. Stir in the unsweetened chocolate and vanilla until well blended.

  • 4. Mix in the flour, and then the walnuts.

  • 5. Spread batter evenly into the prepared pan.

  • 6. Bake for 1 hour in the preheated oven, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  • 7. Cool in the pan on a wire rack before cutting into bars.

    • 440g packed brown sugar
    • 3 eggs
    • 112g unsweetened chocolate - melted
    • 5 ml vanilla extract
    • 125g self raising flour
    • 115g chopped walnuts (optional)
