    Ingredients

    • 18 tablespoons Self Raising Flour
    • 1 teacup Boiling Water
    • 1 teacup White Sugar
    • 1 teacup Vegetable Oil (not olive oil)
    • 3 Large Eggs
    • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
    • 1 teaspoon Ground Ginger
    • 2 teaspoons Ground Mixed Spice
    • 1 teaspoon Bicarbonate of Soda
    • 1 small tin Tate and Lyle Golden Syrup
    • 1 handful Flaked Almonds (optional)

    Method

    • Put everything into your magimix and blend for 3-4 minutes.

      Pour into a greased round baking tin.

      Sprinkle the flaked almonds on top

      Bake for 1hour 15 minutes at 160 degrees in the centre of the oven making sure the top doesn't brown too much.

      Check it is ready by inserting a cocktail stick in the middle. When it comes out clen it is ready to come out of the oven.

      Allow to cool and turn out.

      This delicious cake gets better with age.
