Deep Fried Brie with A Black Cherry Sauce

Method

  • Cut Brie into about 2"x1" pieces.

  • Coat in flour/egg/breadcrumbs.

  • Heat oil in wok for deep frying.

  • Strain tin of cherries and heat the juice with the stock, salt and pepper, reduce a bit till thickened. Whisk in the butter at end and add the cherries in.

  • Deep fry brie for about 30 seconds or until breadcrumbs are just browned.

  • Serve immediately with the sauce and a crisp green salad.
  • Tips

    • This is also good with mozzarella or camembert too.

    Ingredients

    • 1 whole brie
    • 2-3 tbls flour
    • 1 egg beaten
    • 1 cup breadcrumbs
    • 1 large tin black cherries
    • 50ml chicken stock
    • 10g butter
    •  salt and pepper
    •  oil for deep frying
