1. Set the oven to fairly hot, Gas Mark 6/400F/200C.
2. Roll out the pastry and line the tins or patty tins.Prick the base with a fork.
3. Make the filling:
Mix all the ingredients together for about 1 minute or until well mixed.
Place 1 tbsp of the mixture on the bottom of each tartlet,and bake just above the centre of the oven for 15 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown.
4. Make the topping:
Drain the juice from the mandarin oranges.In a small pan blend the arrowroot with a little of the juice,then stir in the rest.Bring to the boil,stirring and boil for half a minute.
Remove from the heat and add sugar to taste.Place mandarin segments on top and spoon a little of the glaze over the top of each tartlet.
