Ingredients

4oz butter
2 table spoons golden syrup
8oz digestive biscuits broken into very small peices not cumbs
2oz glace cherries quartered
1oz dried apricots cut into small peices
2oz flaked almonds
7oz good quality plain chocolate

Method

Put the butter, syrup and chocolate into a large bowl, and melt over a simmering pan of water. Once melted, remove the bowl from the heat and allow to cool a little bit.
Add the biscuits,cherries, apricots and almonds and mix thoroughly.
Lightly oil a large loaf tin and line with clingfilm. Spoon the mixture into the tin and press down firmly. Put in a fridge for a few hours to set.
Turn out the cake onto a board and cut into slices.
