Method

  • Seive the flour, custard powder and cornflour, add the butter and make fine breadcrumbs.
  • Add the sugar then the egg and lightly knead to make the pastry.
  • Leave to chill in fridge for an hour.
  • Once Chilled line the base of a pie tin and fill with the apple.
  • Brush water round rim and put on the top to seal together.
  • Make a couple of slashes to realease steam whilst cooking.
  • Brush with a beaten egg and sprinkle with caster sugar.
  • Put in a preheated over 190C/Gas 5 for 40/45 mins until golden brown.

    • 1 ½ Cup Self Raising Flour
    • 1/3 Cup of Custard Powder
    • 2 ½ tsp Cornflour
    • 125g Butter
    • ¼ Cup Caster Sugar
    • 1 Egg
