  • I dont know about you but I just love something for nothing...and at this time of year you can go out and find wonderful blackberries ripe for the picking!

  • Ingredients

    • 500g Hedgerow blackberries -free
    • 2tbs water
    • 2 tbs Sugar. granulated OR to taste
    • CRUMBLE TOPPING
    • 200g Flour
    • 50g oats
    • 75g sugar
    • 150g Butter (preferably unsalted)
    • 50g ground almonds

    Method

    • First pick your blackberries!
If you can't find enough, you cn add some Bramley apple

      To make the crumble topping:
Add flour, Butter, Oats, almonds, sugar to magimix and process to fine breadcrumbs.
You can do this by rubbing in by hand.

Place blackberries and 2 tbs water and a little sugar in oven proof dish.
Top with crumble mix and bake in moderate oven for 30-40mins
Serve with either ice-cream, custard, cream, creme fraiche, or natural yoghurt

    Tips

    • Use this topping with other fruits.
I have tried Bananas would you believe, when they are plentifuland cheap.
Rasberries are lovely with the crumble topping.
Those packets of frozen fruits you can buy are ideal for a quick dessert.
