Method

  • First, start the egg frying in a small frying pan.

  • Put a good teaspoonful of butter or margarine in a large frying pan, and heat moderately - be careful not to burn it.

  • Add the cornflakes and stir or toss vigorously, to coat all the flakes in the fat. Keep stirring until some of the flakes start to go a little bit brown.

  • You'll have to work out your own timings, as different sized eggs, pans etc. will cook at different rates. Basically, you're looking to have the egg cooked to runny perfection at the same time as the cornflakes have taken on a bit of colour. I usually find it works out well as long as I start the egg off first.

  • Put the cornflakes on a plate. Add the egg on top. You might also want to add a good dollop of ketchup on the side.

  • Eat immediately. Enjoy!

  • Ingredients

    • 1 egg
    • 1 tsp. butter
    • 1 cup cornflakes
