Method

  • Slice the potatos, make them about te width of a pound coin. Par boil them for about 10 minutes.
  • Put all of the ingredients in a large baking dish. Mix cream and milk together and season. Pour liquid over potatoes and onions and bake for an hour - an hour and a half until cooked through. Cheese can be added to top if you prefer.
  • Tips

    • Add a dollop of wholegrain mustard into the liquid mix, or throw in some fresh tomotoes or bacon piece if you have some kicking around.
      Or you could modify to a french savoyarde dish called tartiflette. Use the base of the recipe, but add sliced Roblochon cheese into the dish, in alternate layers to the potato. This cheese can be found at delis etc.

    • 1 onion
    • 1 sweet potato
    • 1 clove garlic
    • large pot cream
    • ½ pint milk
