Method

  • Make cake as for victoria sponge...i put everything in food processor). Cook in rectangle tin for about 40 minutes.
  • Once cooled, cut two pieces the same size so one can go on top of other one (for house bit) then make the left over bit into a roof shape (doesn,t need to be too exact as it will get covered with icing and finger biscuits).

  • But butter cream and jam in middle then cover whole lot with more butter cream. Lay the finger biscuits on roof and use the after eight mint chocolates for windows. The rectangle biscuit is for the door. Decorate bottom of house with the icing flowers. Stick candles on one side of roof for the chimney.

I have a young niece I'm going to try and bake this for at the weekend - and I'm sure she'll love it! Thanks for posting... I for one appreciate it.

    • This was for a 3 year olds birthday, she loved it and it may not be the most appealing looking cake, but i hope that it gives somebody an idea of how to go about making their own birthday cake. As for making it in a food processor, there are lots of recipes for cakes where you just mix all ingredients together in one step.

    • I'm sorry, But I actually had to make an account just to comment on this cake that Google graced my eyes with. It's far from appealing and looks rather unpleasant. The directions for making this cake are also rather special. Also, mixing a cake in a food processor? Absolutely horrid! No stars for you. Kudos on going through with uploading it though. Took some guts.
