Method

  • (if you have any leftover mash skip this part)
  • boil the potatoes in a pan of water until soft enough to mash .mash with a fork or potato masher,add butter,milk,salt and pepper mix well


  • boil the cabbage util soft

  • mix with potato

  • fry the onion

  • mix with potato/cabbage

  • roll the mixture into a small flat ball (make them as big or small as you like)

  • glaze with egg

  • dust with flour

  • heat some oil in a frying pan

  • carefully place the bubble and squak in the pan

  • fry until golden on both sides

  • serve as a side dish to a main meal
  • Tips

    • where gloves when you roll out the mixture .it s abit easier.

    • 2 large potatoes
    • ½ onion. finely chopped
    • small handful cabbage
    • 1 egg for glazing
    • 1tbsp Flour for dusting
    •  salt and pepper
    • 1tablespoon butter
    • splash butter

    my mum gave me the idea on a monday tea time when we had leftover mash ,cabbage from our sunday lunch.A more interesting way to serve potatoes.
