Chicken Curry (punjabi) simple!

Method

  • Heat Olive oil, Add onions, ginger, garlic and salt, fry for 2-3 minutes.
  • Then add turmeric fry for further 1 minute (must not stick to pan)
  • Then add tomatoes cook for further 3-4 minutes
  • Then add FRESHLY washed chicken (water in washed chicken enough for cooking time!!) and cook for 25 minutes.
  • Then add Garam Masala cook for 5 minutes
  • Then add fresh corinader stir and serve.
  • Tips

    • she adds the garam masala at the end to keep the flavour and dont forget the garam masala have several spcies already in it!
      wash freshly wash chicken.. the water provides the sauce base but add more ot prevent it drying up in your pan-- dont over heat it!

    • 2LB (2KG) CHICKEN PIECES
    • 2 medium onion. chopped
    • 250g Tinned Plum tomatoes
    • 1.5 tsp Turmeric powder
    • ½tsp salt to taste
    • 50ml/ 100g Oliver Oil OR Butter
    • 2 cloves garlic- peeled and finely chopped
    • 1 tsp ginger. finely chopped
    • 1.5tsp Garam masala
    • 50g fresh coriander chopped

    this is my mums receipe. she cooks for all the family and does not use chillis since the kids have to eat as well! so its a family dish great with rice!
