1. Take the mug and push the clingfilm inside so that it covers the entire inside of the mug and a little bit sticks out of the top.
2. Crack the egg into the clingfilm (preferably with the yolk still intact!)
3. Take the excess clingfilm and tie it into a knot so that you have a nice little 'egg parcel'
4. Pop your 'egg parcel' into a saucepan of boiling water for 4-6 minutes depending on how runny you like your eggs.
5. Cut the top off the clingfilm and pop the egg out onto your toast/brunch/eggs benedict!
I know this sounds like a crazy way to make poached eggs and many chefs that I've told have told me its 'easy' to make it with vinegar and vortexes, but this is a perfect every time poached egg without any mess in the pan!
this does sound crazy but im going to give it a go. my daughter has been going on about poached eggs for a few days so she can be my guinea pig, hope it works.
What a great idea, I normally poach eggs in the microwave, but they do have a tendancy to explode. I will try this idea, and teach to my son who is about to go to uni and eats a lot of poached eggs.

This method is brilliant! I've never been able to cook poached eggs but now have them every day, perfect runny yolks, lovely!

Sound like a good Idea and would make it a lot easier to do more then one at a time in a smallish pan. Will be giving it a go.
