Method
First, toast the cumin and sesame seeds in a hot dry frying pan until a light golden brown. Add salt.
Next fry onion, garlic, chilli and 2 tsp of the seed/salt mix in a dash of olive oil until the onion is soft.
Mix this with the lamb and chopped mint and season with black pepper
Shape into burgers
Serve with hummus in the pittas sprinkling some of the seed/salt mix inside.
Ingredients
- 1tbsp cumin seeds
- 1tbsp sesame seeds
- 1tbsp sea salt
- 1 onion finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic crushed
- 1 small chilli very finely chopped (optional)
- 1 Olive oil
- 500g lamb mince
- 1 bunch mint leaves. ½ chopped
- 1 Black pepper
- 4 pittas
- 150g hummus to serve
- 1 lemon to squeeze
